Welcome
Welcome to the consultation website for proposals to redevelop the site of 21-37 South Street, Dorking (also known as South House).
The proposals will provide much-needed housing and commercial space in a highly sustainable location.
Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher (CJCT), award winning architects, acting on behalf of the site owners, are excited to show their initial proposals to the neighbouring community, before a detailed planning application is submitted to Mole Valley District Council.
The proposals will provide:
- A high-quality mixed-use development, sustainably located in Dorking Town Centre;
- An opportunity to develop an underutilised brownfield site;
- Circa 64 new homes;
- New flexible ground floor commercial space to respond to local demands;
- Improving the visual appearance of the Conservation Area;
- Carefully considered design that responds to the local area;
- Quality landscaping, retaining as many of the existing trees as possible; and
- A positive contribution to Mole Valley District Council’s housing need.
For more information on the scheme please view ‘The Site & Proposals’ tab above.
